Challenge Airlines I & II
Spatial interventions
2022-2023Two commissioned spatial interventions were undertaken for Challenge Airlines HQ, a cargo flight company. These interventions consisted of a laminated wooden shell designed to house their pilot’s flight simulator, along with two privacy booths. (1) The wooden design, inspired by the iconic Boeing 747’s front section, features curved windows with privacy foil. Wood was shaped using an innovative reconfigurable mold, enabling swift translation of 3D drawings into precise double-curved forms. The shell integrates a flight simulator and a resting area. (2) The booths, inspired by the TAKEOFF installation, were adapted for a corporate setting. Featuring original airplane seats and window panels, they offer solitude, with mirrored walls simulating a plane’s interior for reflection and contemplation.
